This is a capture of a striking live show from the Organ Hall at the Kelvingrove Museum. It’s a collaboration between Kris and the renowned Shetland Fiddler Chris Stout.
It features arrangements of Kris’s songs with a string quartet by Chris, plus the wonderful vocals of Michelle Willis and Rachel Lightbody and the enduringly heroic Euan Burton on bass.
Kris took a notion to make a live album one day, posted a first-come, first-served invite on socials to the first 35 (the number of people he could fit in the venue) responders to come and be the audience, and performed a show for them in a storeroom up a bin lane.
The result is this performance of 11 songs in a public setting, with no PA or sound reinforcement, captured on a nicely put together remote recording setup.
